One More Look: European Masterpieces, Curator-Led Tour

Friday, May 15 | 3:30–4:30 p.m. and 5:30–6:30 p.m. | Libbey Court

Experience highlights from the Toledo Museum of Art’s European collection before they go off view for a period of time. Join Dr. Robert Schindler, the Museum’s curator of European Art, for a relaxed, engaging tour that brings together standout works and the stories behind them.

From the delicate beauty of Piero di Cosimo’s The Adoration of the Child to the rich detail of the Morrison Triptych and paintings by Jan Gossart, explore how artists across centuries captured devotion, power, and everyday life. The tour also includes finely crafted decorative arts, offering a closer look at objects designed to impress as much as inspire.

Along the way, get a glimpse into how these works fit within the Museum’s evolving European galleries and what’s ahead as spaces are refreshed and reimagined.

Whether you’re revisiting old favorites or seeing them for the first time, this is a chance to experience these works in a new light before the next chapter begins.

Featured works include:
Piero di Cosimo, The Adoration of the Child (1937.1)
The Morrison Triptych (1954.5A–C)
Jan Gossart (Mabuse), Two Wings from the So-Called Salamanca Triptych (1952.85a–b)
Presentation Goblet with Cover and Covered Standing Cup (Pokal) (1956.63 and 1962.41)
