It's a She Thing: European Women Artists at TMA (1600-1900)
Friday, March 7 | Libbey Court
Times:
3:00–4:00p.m.
6:00–7:00p.m.

Discover the incredible stories of female artists featured in the TMA's European collection, guided by Dr. Megan Reddicks Pignataro, Research Associate in European Art. For centuries, women in Europe faced significant barriers in pursuing careers as artists, from limited training opportunities to restricted subject matter. Despite these challenges, several pioneering women broke through social and professional limitations, working for royalty, establishing their own workshops and schools, and even out-earning their male counterparts.

On this tour, visitors will learn about influential artists from Artemisia Gentileschi to Marie-Victoire Jaquotot, whose groundbreaking work continues to inspire today.

Registration for this tour is required and limited. If you have signed up and are no longer able to attend, please inform the museum at your earliest convenience by calling (419) 255-8000.
