Title: Ohio Open Doors - Building and History Tour Behind the Scenes Walking Tour

Join Julie McMaster, Archivist, and Joseph Varallyay, Facilities Project Manager, for an exclusive journey through the Toledo Museum of Art's campus. This two-hour walking tour will take you behind the scenes to areas normally off-limits to the public. Joe will share insights into the buildings' structures and mechanical systems, while Julie will delve into the fascinating history of TMA's founding and significant construction milestones.
The tour begins with the Edward B. Green Building, constructed in 1912, and then crosses Monroe Street to explore the lower level of the 74,000-square-foot Glass Pavilion, designed by the architectural firm SANAA and opened in 2006. Weather permitting, the tour concludes with a stroll through the grounds, ending at the Peristyle Theater, a 1,750-seat concert hall opened in 1933, designed in the Greek Agora Style.
By the end of the tour, guests will gain a deeper understanding of TMA's buildings and the dedicated individuals who brought them to life. Enjoy a unique opportunity to get your steps in while celebrating TMA's rich history.
