Program Details

Explore our newly refreshed Gallery 35 exhibit "From Asia to the World: Ancient to Contemporary Art" with TMA Curator of Asian Art, Christine Starkman.
 
Christine will help you to navigate the complex and diverse histories and narratives of the Asian continent. The group will dive into universal and influential themes such as gods and cosmology, patrons and monarchs, and travel and trade, which span across centuries and many Asian cultures. Participants can look forward to the curator speaking on works such as Parvati, Chola Dynasty Indian, about 1150-1200, Donkey's Sofa, Gimhongsok, 2009, and Seated Buddha, Gandhara (now Afghanistan), about 250 CE.
